About Me

Well, let’s see…I have known my husband for 29 years, we have been married for almost 27 years I can honestly say that after all of this time we are still in love…aww that’s cute right? Well, cute or not, we are. We have 3 children. #1 son, 26 who lives a little more than 20 minutes away in another town/city.  #2 son, 21 graduate from college in June and has two jobs, one at Canadian Tire on weekends and a M-F job with a security company. Our baby, a girl 17 in her last year of high school and she is pretty much a sweetie, but of course she has her moments, as we all do! Her interests are anime, Japanese culture and language and photography.

I am a born again Christian. I usually say that when I was about 9 years old I thought that Jesus was literally knocking on the door of my heart, Behold I stand at the door and knock, so that was the beginning of my on-again off-again relationship with the Lord. In my growing up years, I think I must have opened the door and asked Him to enter 100′s of times. We’ve had our moments. I’ve gone my own way from time to time but He is faithful and unchanging and He loves me just the way I am. I hope and pray that I will be able to share more about my relationship with Him as I blog about day-to-day life and things that are on my mind and heart.

I made my adult decision to follow Christ when I was about 19 or 20 years old and have had a much more stable relationship with Him ever since then. We’ve definitely had our moments, the Lord and I, but I thank Him regularly for His faithfulness to me, especially when I am not so faithful to Him. I have had gentle teachers along the way, mostly sisters-in-Christ who have encouraged me along, discipled me and guided me to various leadership roles over the years. My relationship with the Lord has waxed and wained as I have grown in my earthly body/life even as I sometimes lacked growth in my walk with Him. It is a process, I have definitely NOT arrived, I am looking forward to what lies ahead and I know that I have a lot to learn and I pray that I will be willing to hear what He has to say.

Have two sisters who are my best friends. We do a lot of stuff together and we’ve got each other’s backs. We can always count on each other and we stick together. We get together every Friday evening for “games night” followed by a movie. The game is almost always our favorite…Scrabble. We are competitive with each other but take it easier on guests, kind of. We like Taboo and Scene It and Scattergories. We’re pretty competitive with those games too come to think of it. The movie is usually a new release from Blockbuster, since we usually don’t go to the movies, mainly because it is so expensive. We’ve recently decided that it isn’t worth it anyway because there isn’t anything worth paying that much to see. Most movies that are on the shelves were just in the theatres a few months ago, and most of them are garbage. We’ve watched a lot of bad movies looking for a good one.

That’s the scoop on me and my family. Probably more than anyone wanted to know.
